About type of art
The Muria tribe is largely concentrated in Bastar district of Chhatisgarh. Muria economy is predominantly agrarian. In Gaurmar Sikar dance (Mab Pata), they decide on a date for hunting through a song after Dulki dance. Then they go hunting with their weapons which are called Betha baliye dayana in the Gondi language. With the help of an arrow, they make the Gaur senseless and in reverse, the Gaur attacks one hunter. Their friends bring a Shaman (Priest) to cure the affected person. The Sorcer (Leske Gunia) cures the affected person through magico-religious practice. After that to appease the deities they offer Mahua liquor, which in their language is called Dadengo. Later, they search for the attacked Gaur, kill and arrange a feast with the flesh with great excitement. This is a very beautiful and joyful dance that is basically performed as an invocation on the occasion of marriage.
