Khoiguna means honeybee and Laam means dance in Rongmei dialect. Khoiguna Laam is a particular form of imitation honey bee activities performed during festivals and ritual ceremonies. This dance is performed by unmarried boys and girls to the tune of the song with the drumbeat while the romantic song of this dance is sung by the friends of the dancers. Equal number of boys and girls dancing signifies that each boy and girl are in courtship. The boys dance round and round like the bees flying around the flower while collecting nectar.
