The traditional dance of Hill Pulaya (Malappulaya) is known as Attam. It is one of the gorgeous tribal dance ofKerala. Hill Pulaya is a tribal community living in Devikulam taluk of Idukki district. It is believed that they had been migrated from Tamil Nadu State. They are worshipping of Goddesses like Mariamman, Kaliamman, Meenakshi and so on. Attam is rhythmic dance performed by this community during their religious festival to propitiating goddesses. Musical instruments like Chikuvadyam, Urumi (like thudi Instrument), kidimutti, , flute, and kuzhal (wind instrument),etc are accompanied for HillPulaya attam. Both Male and female together participating this dance.
